Hardware & Physical Lab Lead

Own Kuykendall Industries' physical world. Manufacture and deliver HARDGAP, run the lab that proves which hardware can run MABOS, and bring every new device program from prototype to certified product.

Full-TimeBoise, IDPay Tied to the Outcomes You Own

The role

HARDGAP is a titanium card machined by CNC. It works as an offline signer, a cold wallet and an identity card. Inside are a certified secure element, an NFC radio, an E Ink display and a lithium battery. Making it takes contracts, factories, certifications and shipments, all in the physical world.

MABOS is Kuykendall Industries' architecture for persistent AI minds, and those minds also run on people's own computers. Every new class of hardware must be proven in the lab before the company claims support for it.

You own all of it: the factories, the certifications, the lab, and the human hand that can stop any physical action a machine takes.

What you own

  • Manufacturing. Select and contract manufacturers for titanium machining, sapphire and flexible-circuit assembly. Inspect first articles and production lines in person.
  • Certification:
    • radio certification for NFC;
    • lithium-battery transport;
    • water and dust (ingress) rating;
    • export classification for cryptographic hardware.
  • Chain of custody for loading secure elements. Firmware signing goes through the root-of-trust keys held by the founder and the Chief Trust Officer.
  • Delivery. Deliver a unit to every preorder deposit holder, and run fulfillment, warranty and returns.
  • The hardware qualification lab. Consumer GPUs and workstations are proven to run MABOS here, and cloud host types are qualified against the same tests, before Kuykendall Industries says they do.
  • Physical safety. When robotic, vehicle or other physical features are enabled, you are the person who can stop any physical action.
  • New device programs. Every device KI starts, from first prototype through certification.

Your AI workforce

You direct this fleet of about a hundred agents, and you design it: which agents run, what each may do without asking, and what comes to you. The fleet is sized by the outcome, not by a headcount.

  • Design-for-manufacturing, tolerance and parts-list agents, including cost-down analysis.
  • Supplier agents that research suppliers, request quotes and prepare negotiations.
  • Certification agents that build certification files and test plans.
  • Yield and failure-analysis agents.
  • Firmware build and hardware qualification agents.
  • Logistics agents for shipping, customs and order status.
  • Simulation agents for optical, thermal and structural analysis.

The agents do the analysis, the paperwork and the tracking. You walk the line, sign the purchase orders, and accept or reject each build against its test record. You answer to every customer who paid for one.

What great looks like

  • Every preorder deposit holder receives a certified unit they are proud to carry.
  • Production runs repeat without surprises, and every failure is traced to a cause.
  • Every hardware claim Kuykendall Industries makes was proven on a bench first.
  • No physical action happens without a person who could have stopped it.

Who you are

  • You have already run engineering or operations work at the scale of a team by directing AI, and you can show it.
  • You have taken a physical product from prototype through certification to customers.
  • You know contract manufacturing well enough to tell when a supplier is guessing.
  • You take safety seriously: lasers, batteries, actuators and the people around them.
  • You would rather miss a ship date than ship a unit you do not trust.

Compensation

You are paid for the outcomes this seat owns. The amount, the company that pays it, and how it ties to those outcomes are set in writing before any offer.

Kuykendall Industries is owned entirely by its founder and is permanently unavailable for outside equity, so this role carries no equity in Kuykendall Industries.
