UI / UX Designer

The Role

The GM dashboard, character sheets, starship builders, economy interfaces, faction overlays, module navigation, tier gating, chat overlay, dice panel, inventory management — all of it lives on one screen on top of a canvas-rendered galaxy map. You design interfaces that honor the complexity of a living galaxy while keeping a GM's cognitive load manageable during a live session.

What You'll Do

• Design the GM dashboard — roster, timeline, faction meters, overlays, session tools, all as dockable panels on a single canvas surface
• Create the character and starship creation flows — frictionless builders that work without an account
• Design the economy interfaces — wallet selection, market browsing, trade confirmation, transaction history
• Build the module navigation UX — scene-by-scene progression, branch selection, GM commentary placement
• Design the fog-of-lore and fog-of-exploration reveal interactions
• Ensure all interfaces work seamlessly across desktop and tablet

Requirements

• 5+ years in UI/UX design for complex applications — games, dashboards, real-time tools
• Multi-layer interface experience. Products where multiple information layers coexist on one screen
• Interaction design. You think in states, transitions, and edge cases
• Figma proficiency or equivalent; ability to produce high-fidelity prototypes
• You've designed something where users were overwhelmed until you fixed it, and you can walk us through how

Compensation

All positions include equity in Kuykendall Industries. Salaries are TBD and will be determined based on role scope, experience, and what you bring to the table — literally and figuratively.
