Legacy of the Horizon
DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer
Full-Time | Remote (US) | Equity + Salary Upon Revenue
The Role
LoTH is hosted on Vercel's edge network with Supabase as the database of record. Media streams through the same edge. The platform needs to survive a viral silent-drop launch, scale to thousands of concurrent galaxy sessions, and maintain sub-second sync for live play — all without a dedicated ops team babysitting it.
What You'll Do
- Architect and maintain the deployment pipeline on Vercel — serverless functions, edge delivery, media streaming
- Optimize Supabase configuration for real-time subscriptions at scale
- Build CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe deployments
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response for a platform where downtime means interrupted game sessions
- Design backup and disaster recovery systems — continuous server-side backups, restore procedures, data integrity checks
- Performance-tune the stack for concurrent campaign sessions with real-time sync
Requirements
- 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
- Vercel experience, or equivalent serverless and edge deployment platforms
- Supabase familiarity, or equivalent PostgreSQL + real-time stacks
- WebSocket infrastructure and real-time application scaling
- You've kept a platform running through a traffic spike that nobody predicted, and it stayed up
Compensation
All positions include equity in Kuykendall Industries. Salaries are TBD and will be determined based on role scope, experience, and what you bring to the table — literally and figuratively.
The Builder Clause
We don't care where you went to school. We don't care if you went to school. Our founder is self-taught, started coding at 13, and built a 602,000-line cognitive architecture and a 420,000-word universe without a CS degree or a creative writing MFA.
Meet the qualifications, or show us what you've built. Either path works. Both paths demand excellence.
