Kuykendall Industries
Chief of Staff
Full-Time | Boise, ID (Remote for exceptional candidates) | Equity + Salary Upon Revenue
The Role
You are the founder's operational extension. Not an assistant. Not an administrator. An extension.
You don't need to be told what needs doing — you see it, you prioritize it, you handle it or delegate it. You move between contexts as fast as the founder does: IP licensing strategy in the morning, product growth metrics at noon, Annex infrastructure decisions by afternoon, Ceridwen.ai coordination before close.
This is a force multiplier role. The founder builds systems. You build the operational infrastructure that lets those systems reach the world. The gap between “built” and “deployed” is where you live.
Day-to-Day
- Manage cross-venture operational priorities across every active Kuykendall Industries project simultaneously
- Serve as the primary coordination point between Kuykendall Industries and its licensees
- Manage external communications, partnerships, and inbound requests on behalf of the founder
- Identify operational gaps before they become problems
- Manage hiring pipelines across 60+ open roles spanning multiple companies
- Interface with legal, financial, and regulatory contacts as the founder's representative
- You are the operations department until you build one
Requirements
- 7+ years in operations, chief of staff, or executive support at fast-moving, founder-led organizations
- Cross-domain context switching. AI architecture licensing, SaaS metrics, decentralized protocol decisions, IP protection — sometimes in the same hour
- Technical literacy. You don't write Rust. But you understand what a split-horizon inference loop is when an engineer explains it. You read a technical spec and extract the operational implications
- Exceptional written communication. Precise, direct, free of corporate filler. If your emails read like they were generated by a committee, don't apply
- Founder-speed tolerance. You've kept up with a founder who moved faster than everyone around them. Not “managed expectations.” Kept up. Matched pace. Anticipated
- Comfort with ambiguity. No established process for most of what you'll do. No budget for most of what you'll need. You build the processes. You find the resources
Compensation
Equity in Kuykendall Industries and salary upon revenue. No salary today. This is a bootstrapped company. The founder has been building everything without funding, without a team, and without a paycheck from this entity. You enter that same environment.
Who this works for: Someone with savings, consulting income, or another reason they can afford to work for equity in the near term. Someone who looks at the scope of what's been built, understands the commercial potential, and makes a calculated bet.
Who this does not work for: Someone who needs a paycheck on day one. Someone who treats equity as a consolation prize. No judgment — but don't waste your time or ours.
The Builder Clause
We don't care where you went to school. We don't care if you went to school. Our founder is self-taught, started coding at 13, and built a 602,000-line cognitive architecture without a CS degree.
Meet the qualifications, or show us what you've built. Either path works. Both paths demand excellence.
