MCR Economist

Full-Time  |  Remote (US)  |  Equity + Salary Upon Revenue

The Role

The Montopian Credit Reserve is a compute-anchored currency with triple-oracle verification, demurrage, Proof-of-Contribution minting, and civic dividend integration. It is not crypto. It is not fiat. It is a novel monetary system that requires economists who can operate outside existing paradigms while remaining grounded in monetary theory.

What You'll Do

  • Model and tune MCR monetary dynamics — minting rates, demurrage curves, contribution verification
  • Design and validate the triple-oracle verification system (energy, compute, cryptographic)
  • Analyze and forecast MCR circulation, velocity, and stability
  • Develop economic policy recommendations for the governance council
  • Publish research on MCR monetary performance and stability

Requirements

  • PhD in economics, monetary theory, mechanism design, or adjacent field
  • Monetary economics expertise. You’ve read Gesell, you know why Wörgl matters, and you have an opinion on demurrage
  • Quantitative modeling. Agent-based modeling, monetary simulation, econometrics
  • Cryptographic verification understanding
  • You can explain to a hostile audience why a decaying currency is better for productive investment than a hoarding-incentivized one

Compensation

All positions include equity in Ceridwen.ai. Salaries are TBD and will be determined based on role scope, experience, and what you bring to the table. We will not insult you with a lowball offer, and we expect you not to waste our time with inflated expectations disconnected from contribution.

The Builder Clause

We don't care where you went to school. We don't care if you went to school. Our founder is self-taught, started coding at 13, and built a 602,000-line cognitive architecture without a CS degree.

Meet the qualifications, or show us what you've built. Either path works. Both paths demand excellence.
