Ceridwen.ai
BCI Research Engineer
Full-Time | Remote (US) | Equity + Salary Upon Revenue
The Role
Brain-computer interfaces are a gated MABOS subsystem for a reason. The safety requirements are extreme. The precision requirements are extreme. The ethical requirements are extreme. If any of that scares you, good. It should. Apply anyway.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement the BCI integration layer within MABOS
- Develop signal processing pipelines for neural data acquisition and interpretation
- Build safety-critical systems that meet medical-device-grade reliability standards
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure BCI subsystems meet attestation requirements
- Research novel approaches to non-invasive neural interfacing
Requirements
- PhD in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, neural engineering, or adjacent field
- 5+ years working with neural signal processing, EEG/ECoG/MEA systems
- Safety-critical experience. Building systems in a regulated environment
- Rust, C, or C++ required
- You understand that BCI is not a toy and you've acted accordingly in your career
Compensation
All positions include equity in Ceridwen.ai. Salaries are TBD and will be determined based on role scope, experience, and what you bring to the table. We will not insult you with a lowball offer, and we expect you not to waste our time with inflated expectations disconnected from contribution.
The Builder Clause
We don't care where you went to school. We don't care if you went to school. Our founder is self-taught, started coding at 13, and built a 602,000-line cognitive architecture without a CS degree.
Meet the qualifications, or show us what you've built. Either path works. Both paths demand excellence.
